Sandals Resorts

The Problem:

Sandals needed disease and insect-resistant grass to meet the demanding conditions of island landscapes. With land limitations, the sod had to be sourced from the United States and shipped via cargo vessel to the various island resorts. The shipping time had to consider that this was a living product and needed to arrive healthy and viable.

The Solution:

Sod Solutions Pro identified the correct grass that would fit the needs of Sandals. The grass was sourced from multiple farms across the country. The grass was harvested and shipped in refrigerated containers. From harvest time to arrival time on the islands was always between five and seven days, depending on transit time. The grass arrived healthy and ready for installation. Sod Solutions Pro met with the Sandals agricultural team to offer best practices considering the grass type and particular island conditions.
