Superintendent Tyler McCool recognizes the significance of visual appeal, particularly for television audiences, given the tournament’s yearly appearance on the professional golf circuit. The grass’s adaptability allows McCool to maintain it at varying lengths, ranging from just below a half-inch in the short grass to two inches in the rough. Although nerve-wracking at times to have the course broadcasted worldwide, McCool acknowledges that it showcases his team’s efforts to prepare the course to meet PGA standards.
