Sod Solutions’ Commitment to the Environment is Evident in their Partnerships
CHARLESTON, S.C., (February 9, 2017) – Sod Solutions continues to align themselves with partners who also make the environment a priority. Shannon Easter, golf consultant for Sod Solutions, recently was honored by Golf Course Superintendents Association of America (GCSSA) as the Overall and National Private recipient of the 2016 Environmental Leaders in Golf Awards (ELGA).
Shannon Easter, maintenance director and environmental consultant at Broken Sound Club in Boca Raton, Fla., has been actively using Sod Solutions turfgrass varieties, Amp AgronomyTM products and most recently, became a consultant with Sod Solutions in January 2016. Easter recently completed a wall to wall renovation featuring Celebration® Bermudagrass and the greens were SundayTM Ultra-Dwarf Bermudagrass.

The award recognizes golf course superintendents and their courses for overall course management excellence and best management practices in the areas of water conservation, water quality management, energy conservation, pollution prevention, waste management, wildlife and habitat conservation, communication and outreach, and leadership.
“Superintendents are all trying to do the same thing to show that golf courses are good for the environment,” said Easter. “Being recognized for what we are doing is a feather in our cap here at Broken Sound.”
An independent panel of judges representing national environmental groups, turfgrass experts, university researchers and valued members of the golf industry conducted the award selection.
