Turf Logistics Releases Both Apple iOS and Android Apps
Updates Provide On and Offline Usage for Harvesters and Drivers
CHARLESTON, S.C., (February 22, 2017) – Sod Solutions, Inc., the world’s leader of turfgrass research and development and the creator of Turf LogisticsTM, is pleased to announce the release of both Apple iOS and Android applications. Turf Logistics helps sod farmers streamline their total operation from top to bottom by utilizing cloud-based technology.
Launched in 2014, Turf Logistics was developed by supporters of the sod industry with input and involvement from sod growers across the United States. Turf Logistics has continued this focus when it comes to feature changes and implementations based on grower feedback.
“This app release allows harvesters and drivers to view and interact with information they need both on and offline. The ability to operate offline is important to our customers who operate in rural areas that sometimes lack cellular coverage,” said Drew Wagner, chief technical officer at Sod Solutions and founder of Turf Logistics. “Adding both apps to Turf Logistics will give users the extra flexibility to use the software anywhere.”
In September 2016, Turf Logistics released the most innovative version to date. The updates include a simplified and more streamlined order entry screen, broadened automatic truck routing capabilities, an improved and more extensive reporting module, increased mobile functionality and accessibility for tablet and mobile device users. These changes and additions were all implemented with the common goal of continuing to increase efficiencies and maximize production.
“We greatly increased the efficiency of our whole operation,” said Gary Youmans of Green Acres Turf, a Turf Logistics user since the launch of the beta program in 2014. “Our old system was very basic, one person held all the knowledge, with Turf Logistics we are now one operation no matter who you are or where you are.”
