Tradeshow Roundup: May–August of 2016

Tradeshow season is in the fall months. It is a busy season at work in the turfgrass world. Shows have slowed a bit in the warmer months but our field staff has been all over the country, using this time to visit producers and research facilities.

Following our trip to Winston Salem in May to attend the North Carolina Association of Landscape Architects convention, we spent June at two large sports turf manager conferences. The first was for the South Eastern Conference and the 2nd for the Atlantic Coast Conference.

In early August, Sod Solutions exhibited in the Florida ASLA show on Friday, August 5th, and Saturday, August 6th, in Jacksonville, FL. Christian Broucqsault and Julie Adamski met with scores of landscape architects from all over the state, many of whom were familiar with our brands and had already been specifying them in their projects. About a dozen firms invited Sod Solutions to come make presentations to their firms.

On to Texas where the “Sod Doctors” were seeing patients at the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association Conference in Houston. Our new booth concept was rolled out, lab coats and all. The premise is that Sod Solutions has the remedy for a bad lawn. Computers were set up at three work stations to lead visitors to the booth to the best grassing options to meet the needs of their landscape, solving any problematic issues along the way. The rollout was a success as it made a memorable impression on many to the booth. We will bring this booth concept which fits in a 20 feet x 20 feet space next to the huge Landscape Show in Orlando in September.
